"Loc Repairs is an ongoing process that heavily depends on consistent & proper aftercare, multiple repair sessions may be needed. It's super important to follow aftercare instructions exactly to keep your hair healthy." - J.Michelle
Retwisting is an integral part of the repair process as it forces loose strands back into the proper roots to help hold the weight of locs. It also helps train hair to lock faster, stay neater, and lay down.
- If locs are down and loose, SR in 2-3 weeks and then as instructed.
- If locs are in a style: SR in 3-4 weeks and then as instructed.
- SR MUST be done with light, gentle pressure for the first 6 months and then moderate thereafter.
- Do NOT retwist, neaten edges, or excessively style locs between visits/maintenance.
- May use edge control to slick down edges; limit once a week.

- No tight styles and avoid pins going through attachment points.
- May use edge control to slick down edges; limit once a week.
- To keep a neater look and/or focus attention away from messy roots, consider styles like curls, crinkles, braids, rope twists, barrel rolls, and loc petals.
Avoid putting any stress on attachment points and limiting stress on extensions.
- Do NOT cut any thread or fuzzy/loose hairs for approximately 6 months; just palm roll it back down.
- To create a more compact look, palmroll at the attachment points to smooth out any bulkiness.
- Do NOT get oil/grease on attachment points to prevent slippage.
- Palmroll or twist the ends of extensions weekly to round out tips. Be sure only the ends are twisted NOT the roots.
- Do not use leave-in conditioner more than once a day unless instructed.
- No tight styles and avoid pins going through attachment points.
It is totally normal for your scalp to feel sore and tender after a repair service. Lightly massage scalp, oil if needed, and your scalp should be back to normal soon. It's ok to take-down your style.
